Allan Tayebwa has been officially appointed as Honorary Consul of the Commonwealth of Dominica in Uganda, a significant step toward enhancing trade, tourism, investment, and connectivity between the two nations.
The appointment was formalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Regional Affairs), where Mr. Tayebwa presented his credentials to John Mulimba, the State Minister of Foreign Affairs. This presentation signifies formal recognition by the host country and grants him authority to carry out consular duties in Uganda.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Tayebwa expressed his gratitude for the honor, describing the appointment as both a privilege and a responsibility.
“I look forward to strengthening the relationship between Uganda and the Commonwealth of Dominica, fostering commercial diplomacy through trade, investment, and meaningful partnerships that will benefit our people and businesses,” he said.
He highlighted that Dominica’s key economic sectors, particularly tourism and agriculture, offer excellent opportunities for Uganda, especially in areas such as coffee production.
He also noted that there is no visa requirement between Uganda and Dominica for tourism or business travel, and that the government of Dominica is working with Ethiopian Airlines to create more direct travel connections.
John Mulimba welcomed Mr. Tayebwa, emphasizing the importance of focusing on standards, consumer demands, and effective marketing of Ugandan products like coffee.
He underscored that such partnerships are vital for strengthening bilateral economic ties.
Allan Tayebwa is a well-respected business leader and entrepreneur, serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Goldmine Finance, which recently marked its 10-year milestone.

His extensive experience in financial services, business advisory, and leadership positions him to effectively promote economic cooperation and commercial partnerships between Uganda and Dominica.
As Honorary Consul, Mr. Tayebwa will represent Dominica’s interests in Uganda, provide support to nationals, facilitate trade and investment linkages, promote cultural and economic cooperation, and assist during emergencies involving citizens of Dominica.
His appointment marks an important step in advancing collaboration, friendship, and economic engagement between the two countries.
